Lunch & Learn: Fraud Prevention

Join us for an informative community event focused on fraud prevention and financial security featuring experts from Ameris Bank and local county offices. Representatives from Ameris will discuss common scams affecting individuals and businesses, tools available to business owners such as Positive Pay, and practical cybersecurity checklists and FAQs. Attendees will also learn how local bank branches and treasury partners serve as valuable resources in preventing financial fraud, as well as steps banks take to ensure proper mortgage and title protections. Officials from the Clerk of Court and Property Appraiser’s Office will share information on property fraud risks, including real stories of property fraud losses, and explain state-funded programs designed to help protect property owners. The session will also cover Property Fraud Alerts, how residents can sign up through the county, and additional steps citizens can take to safeguard their finances, property records, and personal information. This event is a valuable opportunity to learn how to better protect your assets and stay ahead of today’s most common fraud threats.
